I was amazed at the cold air and everything to look at! Jordan hyping me up for my rehab session in the gym. The nurses had set up a Christmas display to bring some holiday cheer to the floor. My mom made me take pictures with it to try to understand the concept of pictures with Santa. Addie and I having wheelchair races outside the hospital. Working on the independence of getting myself between the parallel bars for some rehab work. Some of my speech therapy homework on object naming and recognition. My mom or I would point to objects and I would have to identify their name/functions. Weekend rehab consisted of working my brain. I spent hours working with blocks and games to replicate patterns and identify colours. An extremely challenging task. Practicing weight bearing through my left side. After a few days of practicing weight bearing, I was able to start to do other simple tasks while standing with assistance such as sorting cards. Working on shifting weight onto my left leg. Started with lifting my right heel off the ground and worked up to taking my right foot fully off the ground in preparation for walking. I was often rocking the two different shoes look. My left foot was swollen for a while so my regular running shoes wouldn't fit. I was quickly well-known in rehab for always wearing my Crocs as it was the only shoe that would fit on my foot with the brace I used.
